Put Pub Run on your home screen
It takes about 20 seconds, you only do it once, and after that it's an icon on your phone like any other app — no app store involved.
Follow the steps for your phone below — iPhone first.
Why bother
It sits with your other apps
An icon on your home screen, one tap to open — no hunting through browser tabs.
It opens full screen
No address bar, no clutter. It looks and behaves like a normal app.
Notifications only work from there
On iPhone, event and pub-change alerts can only reach you in the home-screen version.
Nothing to download
No app store, no update, barely any storage. It's the same site, kept close to hand.
iPhone
About 20 seconds, and you only do it once.
1. Open it in Safari
Go to pubrunn.app in Safari. Safari is the browser that can add apps on iPhone.
2. Tap the ⋯ button
Three dots at the bottom right of the screen, in the bar under the page.
3. Tap Share
It's near the top of the menu that slides up.
4. Tap View More
The share sheet hides some options — tap View More (the down arrow) to reveal them.
5. Tap Add to Home Screen
It's in the list of actions that opens up.
6. Tap Add
Leave “Open as Web App” switched on, then tap Add in the top right. The Pub Run icon appears on your home screen.
Android
1. Open it in Chrome
Go to pubrunn.app in Chrome.
2. Tap the ⋮ menu
Three dots at the top right of the screen.
3. Tap “Add to home screen”
Some phones call it “Install app” — either one does the same thing.
4. Tap Add to confirm
The Pub Run icon appears on your home screen.
Worth knowing: the home-screen version keeps its own sign-in, so you'll be asked to sign in once after adding it. The icon will read “Pub Run” — that's us, not a different app.
